EFSA host plant list update Xylella spp.
On European Commission’s request, the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) updates the Xylella host plants twice a year.
The purpose of the database is to provide scientific information to risk managers and researchers.
This update, defined by scientific publications in the period between the 1st January 2021 and the 30th June 2021, identifies nineteen new species.
These species have mainly been reported as naturally infected by subsp. Multiplex of X. Fastidiosa in France, Spain and Portugal.
NB: the EFSA list of Xylella host plants is NOT a legislative update, but it is expected that future changes will also refer to this list.
